| Thursday, May 06, 2010, 15:00 Hrs [IST] |
The Delhi government will seriously explore the possibility of putting in place single window clearance for all permits related with restaurants in the capital city. This was informed by P K Tripathi, Principal Secretary – Tourism, Government of Delhi during the release of the White Paper on India’s restaurant industry in Delhi recently.
Addressing the restaurant industry leadership, Tripathi said that the government will try to introduce single window clearance in lieu of the present sequential clearances in consultation with other departments. “We will be working towards it. This can reduce the time taken on clearances from six months to two months,” he informed.
Calling the restaurant industry as the ‘biggest growth sector’ in the capital city, Tripathi said that Delhi cannot afford to have big industries due to paucity of land. He also said that good and hygienic food joints are unavoidable for a city like Delhi which aspires to become a global city. |
